Supported by XL, ICT Watch is preparing the “Internet Sehat” book, updated version of the latest one. “Internet Sehat” is communication program (campaign) on how to use Internet safely and wisely. We will print around 10 thousand pieces and distribute it freely to community through activities/events developed by ICT Watch and XL.
The book will contain guidance, PC filtering tutorial and short messages in cartoon form as well. Hopefully, information inside the book can be delivered to our target, from family, school, teacher, parent, teenager and children as well. Please wait for the launch of the book…

[Bahasa Indonesia] Tentu saja tidak seluruh isi di Internet dapat bermanfaat, jika kita tak pandai-pandai dalam menggunakan Internet. Karena sifatnya yang cenderung bebas tanpa kontrol pihak manapun, maka ada saja materi atau isi yang bersifat negatif di Internet ataupun yang dikirim/ terkirim melalui Internet. Sebutlah semisal pornografi, perjudian, sadisme dan rasialisme.
Belum lagi dengan aneka macam program jahat (virus, worm, trojan horse, spyware, adware) yang dapat mencuri bahkan merusak data di komputer, serangan e-mail sampah (spam), penipuan, pelanggaran privasi hingga pelecehan seksual.
Untuk itulah maka program “Internet Sehat” yang digagas oleh Yayasan Center for ICT Studies – ICT Watch (www.ictwatch.com) sejak 2001 silam bertujuan mengajak kita bersama agar menjadi lebih paham dan peduli dengan “sehat”-nya Internet kita.

Here is the research report of Indonesia regulation on infrastructure, internet content, e-commerce, e-business, electronic evidence, privacy and data protection, consumer protection, domain name, intellectual property, e-finance and e-banking, e-taxation and e-customs, conflict of laws, dispute resolution and penalties.
The research conducted by Center for ICT Studies Foundation (ICT Watch Indonesia), assigned by World Bank through Rajahtan Research Working Group - Singapore.

Indonesia, with the amount of citizen that was in the fourth largest population in the world (with 220 million people) consists of more than 1000 island, and has its own characteristic in developing its information and communication technology infrastructure. Even the government through the Presidential Decree No 6 Year 2001 about “Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Development and Usability in Indonesia†asserted that efforts to make the use of ICT optimal were really need to endeavor public and to unify the nation.
Because of that, the ICT teledensity rate in Indonesia, even it is expanding, it is still not enough. For fixed telephone lines teledensity, there are 13 million lines or about 6 lines for every 100 citizens (6%). On telecommunication industry, mobile telephone was growing rapidly. The average growth of cellular user in Indonesia since 1999 until 2005 is 63.7% per year. Until mid of 2006, penetration rate of cellular user in Indonesia were about 50 million people or about 22 million units for every 100 citizens (22%).
